I dont know who in their right frame of mind would want to take an expensive device to a sandy beach anyway….

Be careful, you can’t read your iBooks in the sun. So forget about doing reading at the beach, or in the park. bit()ly cNYird , just look at the photo, you don’t even have to read the article.

I’m definitely picking one of these up. What would i use it for? Reading books, school study (instead of carrying heavy textbooks), surfing the web, play a game once in a while, listen to music, social network, etc. Yes, a notebook can maybe do more but not as practical, lugging it around, having to boot up, shutdown, worrying about battery life, etc.

I like it! It looks pretty cool. The two things that I wish it had, though, would have to be a USB port and Microsoft Word so that I could use it for homework. Other than that, I like the iBook app since it seems easy to use.

I was really interested in the iPad and was considering the purchase when it comes out. But after reading about the specs and features (or lack thereof) I purchased the latest netbook with a 12.1″ screen. It may not be as sexy as the iPad or have multi-touch capabiltiy but this netbook can multi-task, has a webcam, can play flash video, can play high def video that can be displayed on an HDTV thru the netbooks HDMI port and actually plays real games. I might still buy the iPad…but for my mom.

Nice! I am surely going to buy that. I almost bought mini laptop few years back, but really didn’t see the point of mini laptop, as it tries to be like a real laptop only smaller, so small you can’t work with it.

Why do you need AT&T for that? If it’s a wifi enabled device what would a phone service be for?
