Nook or iPad… Which would you choose?

Question by Jasmine: Nook or iPad… Which would you choose?
I’m trying to figure out which would be more beneficial for me to get. I’m just starting NAU in the fall and have been looking at either the Nook or the iPad to take along with me. I would like to use it for my school books and just all around reading obviously lol.

If you have either of these, could you please tell me about the pros and cons of either of them? or which one you would honestly prefer and why? Thank you so much, I really appreciate your help,
-Jazz
Thank you “The Writer” but the reason I’m asking about this is because it would save me a lot of room for my book collection I already have-and am planning on keeping at my mother’s house- and it would be a lot easier for taking it to work with me. I am still planning on buying used hard copies of my text books too.

The ipad is garbage. Just get a mac… anyways, as far as your questions goes, the “Nook”, god, people need to start reading again!

I have both the Kindle 2 and the iPad 64GB 3G.

Cost: Kindle 2 – about $ 200 now after the last price drop. Same for the Nook.

    iPad 64GB 3G – $ 829 but this is top of the line. 16GB version without 3G is $ 499.

Obvious advantage with the Kindle or Nook is the lower cost. But, then again, all you can use them for is reading and if that’s all you want then they are great. Compact, light, easy to download to.

iPad – has a free Kindle app that syncs up your Kindle account with your Ipad (if you have both) or turns your iPad into a Kindle. In addition I have about 200 other apps on my iPad…anything from games, educational apps, GPS, fitness apps, etc. Plus I have music and videos on my Ipad that syncs up from iTunes. I also get newspapers like the Wall Street Journal sent daily via wifi to my iPad and I read the USA Today on my iPad. Full internet browsing with Safari. Email as well. I watch full episodes of NBC TV programming on my iPad via the NBC app.

The iPad does sooo much more but it costs a lot more as well. Spend according to your budget. The iPad made my Kindle 2 obsolete though.
